Arrival at Delhi Airport / Railway Station, meet our representative and proceed towards Haridwar, one of the holiest cities in India and the gateway to the Char Dham Yatra. On arrival, check in at the hotel and relax. If time permits, visit famous temples including Mansa Devi Temple, Chandi Devi Temple, and Daksha Mahadev Temple.
In the evening, visit Har Ki Pauri to witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti, where hundreds of lamps float on the holy river Ganga, creating a divine and spiritual atmosphere. After the ceremony, return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Haridwar.
Haridwar, located at the foothills of the Shivalik range, is considered one of the seven holiest places in Hinduism. According to mythology, King Bhagirath performed intense penance here to bring the sacred River Ganga to Earth for the salvation of his ancestors. It is believed that Lord Shiva released the Ganga from his matted locks, and since then Haridwar has become a major pilgrimage destination. Devotees take a holy dip in the Ganges to seek spiritual purification and blessings. The town also serves as an important starting point for journeys to Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri, and Gangotri.
Weather:
Haridwar experiences warm summers with temperatures ranging between 35°C to 40°C, while winters are pleasant during the day and cool at night, with temperatures between 5°C to 20°C.
After breakfast, drive towards Guptkashi, a beautiful Himalayan town located on the route to Kedarnath. The journey offers scenic views of river valleys, mountain roads, and charming hill villages. En route, enjoy breathtaking landscapes of the Alaknanda and Mandakini river regions. On arrival in Guptkashi, check in at the hotel and relax.
In the evening, visit the famous Ardh Narishwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati in their combined form. The peaceful surroundings and spiritual ambiance make Guptkashi an important stop before the Kedarnath pilgrimage. Overnight stay at Guptkashi.
Guptkashi, which means “Hidden Kashi”, holds great mythological significance. According to legends, after the Kurukshetra war, the Pandavas searched for Lord Shiva to seek forgiveness. Lord Shiva avoided them and is believed to have hidden in Guptkashi before finally appearing in Kedarnath. This makes Guptkashi an important religious destination in the Badri Kedarnath Yatra. During winter, when Kedarnath Temple closes, the deity is brought to Ukhimath, passing through Guptkashi, and worship continues there.
The town is surrounded by snow-capped Himalayan peaks and offers stunning views of Chaukhamba Mountain Range, making it a scenic and spiritual halt on the journey.
Weather:
Guptkashi enjoys pleasant weather in summer with temperatures between 25°C to 30°C, while winters are cold with temperatures dropping significantly, especially during night hours.
Early morning, drive to Sitapur / Sonprayag. From Sonprayag, take a local jeep (at own cost) to Gaurikund, the starting point of the Kedarnath trek. Begin your trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath Temple by foot or optional pony / palki / doli. The trekking route offers breathtaking views of snow-covered peaks, waterfalls, and the Mandakini River flowing alongside the trail.
Pilgrims are advised to carry personal medicines, warm clothes, rain protection, and essential toiletries for the overnight stay at Kedarnath due to high altitude and changing weather conditions. Upon arrival, check in at the guest house / camp. Later visit the sacred Kedarnath Temple for darshan and experience the divine atmosphere of one of the most important pilgrimage sites in India. Overnight stay at Kedarnath.
Kedarnath is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and a major highlight of the Badri Kedarnath Yatra. Nestled in the majestic Garhwal Himalayas near the Mandakini River, the temple stands against the stunning backdrop of the Kedarnath mountain range. The spiritual importance of Kedarnath is deeply connected to Hindu mythology. It is believed that after the Mahabharata war, the Pandavas sought forgiveness from Lord Shiva. To avoid them, Lord Shiva took the form of a bull and disappeared into the ground at Kedarnath. The hump appeared at Kedarnath, while other body parts manifested at different locations — Tungnath, Rudranath, Madhmaheshwar, and Kalpeshwar. Together, these five temples are known as the Panch Kedar.
The serene surroundings, snow-covered peaks, and spiritual aura make Kedarnath one of the most sacred and breathtaking destinations in the Himalayas.
Early morning, attend the Abhishek Puja at Kedarnath Temple, one of the most spiritual experiences of the Badri Kedarnath Yatra. Devotees can participate in the early morning rituals and seek blessings of Lord Shiva in the peaceful Himalayan surroundings. After darshan, return to the hotel / camp for breakfast.
Later, begin the downhill trek from Kedarnath to Gaurikund, enjoying scenic views of mountains, waterfalls, and the Mandakini River along the route. Upon reaching Gaurikund, take a local jeep (at own cost) to Sonprayag. From Sonprayag, drive back to Guptkashi.
On arrival in Guptkashi, check in at the hotel and relax after the long journey. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at Guptkashi.
This day marks the completion of the sacred Kedarnath pilgrimage, offering unforgettable memories of spiritual darshan and breathtaking Himalayan landscapes.
After breakfast, drive towards Badrinath via Joshimath, enjoying spectacular views of Himalayan valleys, rivers, and mountain landscapes. The route passes through scenic confluences and charming hill towns. On arrival at Badrinath, check in at the hotel and relax.
In the evening, visit the sacred Badrinath Temple for Aarti and Darshan. The spiritual atmosphere of the temple, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, offers a truly divine experience. Dinner and overnight stay at Badrinath.
Badrinath is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites and among the most important Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Located at an elevation of 3,133 meters, the temple is beautifully positioned between the Nar and Narayan mountain ranges, with the majestic Neelkanth Peak forming a stunning backdrop. According to legends, the area was once covered with wild berry trees, hence the name Badri Van, meaning “forest of berries”.
