Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kalupur

Shree Swaminarayan Mandir also known as Akshardham Temple is located in Kalupur area of Ahmedabad city in Gujarat State, India. Shree Swaminarayan Temple is the first temple of Swaminarayan Sampraday which is a Hindu Sect and is dedicated to Narayan Dev.  Akshardham Mandir is believed to be built in the year 1822 on the instructions of Swaminarayan, the founder of Swaminarayan sect of Hinduism. As per the instructions of Swaminarayan, the administration of Swaminarayan Samraday was divided into two Gadis (seats), these Gadis are known as NarNarayan Dev Gadi and LaxmiNarayan Dev Gadi. Shree Swaminarayan Mandir is the headquarters of the narNarayan Dev Gadi. Swaminarayan Temple is a beautiful example of nineteenth century architecture. Inside Akshardham Temple, idols are decorated with beautiful jewelry and clothes. The main deity of Akshardham Temple is NarNarayan Dev. Other notable deities are Krishna Dev, Shree Dharmabhaktimata and Hari Krushna Maharaj, Shree Ranghmohal Ghanshyam Mharaj and Shree Bal Swarop Ghanshyam Maharaj. Akshardham Temple is built using Burma wood and every arch, column and bracket is colored differently making at is an engineering masterpiece. Around one million people visits Swamimarayan Temple next day after Diwali. Akshardham Temple is well equipped with medical clinic as well as guest house within its complex.
