About Taj Museum
Taj Museum first started around 1906 on the order of Lord Curzon who was the Viceroy of India during 1899 to 1905. However, it was re located to Western Jal Mahal in 1986 which is in the Taj Mahal complex only. As the name suggests, Taj Museum has old plans of the Taj Mahal, Samples of the stone used in inlay work in Taj Mahal, old photographs of the Taj Mahal, a few drawings in color, Royal orders (Farmans), land Records (Sanads), specimen of previous stones. A visit to Taj Museum will take you the rich Mughal era.
