National Museum, New Delhi

National Museum of Delhi which is also known as the National Museum of India is of the biggest museum in India. National Museum was established in 1949 and blue print of it was prepared by the Gwyer Committee set up by the Government of India. National Museum have vast collection of articles ranging from pre historic era to modern art. National Museum comes under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. National Museum is located right on the corner of Janpath and Maulana Azad Road. National Museum has around 200000 artworks, both Indian and foreign, covering more than 5000 years of rich cultural heritage of countries across the world. National Museum provides you a chance to visit rich old culture as old as of 4th and 5th Century B.C and times of Buddha as well as Harappan Civilization. On the first floor of National Museum there is a Institute of History of Arts, Conservation and Museology which was established in 1983 and is a recognized university since 1989 providing Masters and Doctoral level courses in Conversation, Museology and History of Art. Nearest Metro Station to reach National Museum is Udyog Bhawan Metro Station on the Yellow Line.
