Red Fort

The Red Fort is the historic fort in the city of Delhi. The Great Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan who constructed the Red Fort and it is situated on bank of the Yamuna River. It took 8 Years and 10 months to build this beautiful fort. Mughal architect Ustad Ahmad Lahauri is the architect who designed the fort. The Red Fort derives its name from the red-sandstone walls, which make the fort almost unassailable. It is located at Old Delhi, is one of the massive and famous structures of India and is the best example of Mughal architecture. It is often considered as the most successful creation of Mughal. It was a part of the medieval city of Shahjahanabad, today known as 'Old Delhi'. It is an important place for the Indians as the Indian Prime Minister unfold the national flag here on the Independence Day. The Red Fort declared as the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
